Tell us a little bit about yourself…
So, I am an almost 24 year old Taurus/cat mum to Oscar. I grew up in a smallish NSW country town called Dubbo, making the sea change to the Gold Coast when I was a fresh 18 year old and I haven’t looked back. I find everything hilarious (even the dark stuff, sorry) and have been told my laugh could be recognised if it was heard on the other side of the world.
Where is your happy place?
I am honestly happiest pottering around the house with the incense and tunes flowing with Oscar by my side - or at the beach with a beer in my hand. But on the other end of the scale also when I'm drinking wine and dancing like a fool with the chicks.
What are 3 things your passionate about and why?
MUSIC. In particular Australian music. I am a huge fan of triple J and it’s community, I can always get around anything they are supporting.
PLANTS. Houseplants make the world go round.
VISUALLY PLEASING INTERIORS/EXTERIORS, Maybe a weird one but I froth a good looking and well styled house. Eye candy. Basically I chose the wrong career path.
If you could give your younger self any advice, what would you say to her?
I would tell my younger self to chillllll tf out man. Everything is going to be ok. Have patience, don’t wish your life away. Control your temper, but break the rules. Practice being the glass half full girl you would later turn out to be.
What is your favourite story to tell?
That is a tough one. I guess one off the top of my head would be meeting Dylan Frost after a Sticky Fingers show in 2016. We hung around the stage when the gig was over in hopes to meet the boys, we had no luck. We waited around for an uber home for almost an hour and it was taking too long so we headed into a shitty little bar nearby. Half an hour later Dylan comes trotting in all on his own. I showed him my tattoo (which is a quote of one of their songs) and he said he loved it and wanted to get one the same. Big fan girl moment. The next week they went on hiatus.
What are your 3 favourite songs of all time and why?
Juicy by Biggie Smalls. Always brings back fun memories of being with my school friends back home. Still the only song I would ever request on a night out. On my Greek Island TopDeck tour we were at a Karaoke bar in Paros. To break the ice my friend Tayla and I rapped the whole thing and our new mates thought we were absolute weapons. Basically, it's the song that keeps on giving.
7 by Catfish and the Bottlemen. I was bound to be obsessed with this song as 7 is also my favourite number, but besides that this song tugged on my heart strings - then finally getting to see the band live (they came to Australia like 3 times in two years, best ever) was surreal.
Gold Snafu by Sticky Fingers. Again, heaps good festival memories and this song kicked off my true love for STIFI, who shaped a huge part of my young adult life.
What are some of your favourite things to do for yourself?
Recently I have started doing yoga in the mornings and it’s crazy how much it impacts my attitude for the rest of the day! Having a nice clean home also makes my mind feel less cluttered, as does being mindful of my screen time. Since the virus hit and staying home is the cool thing to do, I have also had more time for reading, painting and gardening! Browsing the self help and psychological isle at the library also helps me think my life is coming together, lol.
Your favourite pun?
Someone stole my mood ring! I’m not quite sure how I feel about it
