Tell us a little bit about yourself

Oh heyyy. I’m Logan.

I’m 25, a school teacher, an avid coffee drinker and I am all about good vibes. I live in Palmy, in the cutest little plant-filled home with my fur baby Penny & my partner Edward. My favourite things in this life are sunshine, the ocean, moments with the people I love and good food. My weekdays are spent passionately teaching my class of year 3 students and come the evening, sweating with my gym crew, cooking delicious meals with Ed and walking by the seaside. On the weekends I love café-hopping my favourite local spots, lying in the sunshine and fine dining with a gin in hand. I am obsessed with the little things in life & the life Ed and I have created together.

Where is your happy place?

Anywhere by the ocean. I’ve grown up lucky enough to always be in walking distance to the beach. There is absolutely nothing more peaceful than having a coffee in hand (or a fat glass of red) and listening to the waves roll in. I love doing this solo and writing in my journal, or as a wind-down with Edward after a huge day (this is usually where the glass of red comes into play).

What do you think the world needs more of?

Emotional awareness and understanding. I really think this world needs more lessons and awareness early-on to completely understand what emotions are, how to regulate them and that is actually OKAY to feel. It’s normal. It’s necessary, and there is absolutely no right or wrong way to feel in any given situation. Like, how cool would it be to live in a world where children are brought up to understand their own emotions and the emotions of others, learning to react differently to tricky situations and maintain kindness and empathy even if they disagree? We would all just live in our own lane and focus on our own shit while being kind enough to empathise and guide our mates when they need it regardless of our own ideologies. I feel like that’s something this world needs more of for sure. I am hopeful that we’re kind of heading in that direction at the moment.

What are 3 things that you’re most passionate about and why?

Health. If you don’t know why it’s important to look after yourself, I invite you to start learning.

My fur baby. Because she is the most gorgeous ball of bulldog to ever exist.

Being a teacher. I have the best job in the world. I get to shape the minds of tiny children, and my most favourite part of that is teaching them that it’s okay to feel, to fail & to be themselves.

What does mental health awareness mean to you?

Every day I aim to teach just one human that it’s ‘ok to not be ok’. Whether it’s a child, a colleague or a friend. I just feel like this world puts so much pressure on us, and it’s unrealistic. Hence being so passionate about emotional awareness. It’s so important to know yourself. To speak. To be compassionate. To ask for help if you need it. We’re all in this together.

What are you grateful for?

The little things. A good coffee, a workout that tests your mental game, a gin on the balcony, a delicious meal, Edward dancing around the kitchen to Elton John, a cheese platter. Ya know, the feel good stuff that fills your bucket. Those moments.

Tell us something that brought a smile to your face recently

There’s this older man that is always walking the beach in my local area. He is forever smiling, waving, and wishing the people around him a good morning or a happy day. He speaks to every human he passes. He makes my heart shine.
